BROOKFIELD, Wis. — raSmith, a multi-disciplined civil and structural engineering and surveying firm, is pleased to announce that Sheri Lieffring has joined raSmith as an ecological project manager in the municipal services division. Lieffring is a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources assured wetland delineator and a professional wetland scientist, bringing more than 25 years of experience in natural resources and ecological consulting to the team. 

Lieffring brings deep expertise in wetland delineation, environmental corridor delineation, wetland and waterway permitting, hydrologic and vegetation monitoring, habitat and ecological assessments, land use planning, and restoration project oversight. She has collaborated with both municipal and private-sector clients throughout her career, assisting with regulatory compliance, environmental reviews, and natural resource management. 

Lieffring’s professional experience spans technical fieldwork, project management, land use and environmental planning, plan reviews, permitting, and vegetation and habitat surveys. She has prepared environmental permit applications, conducted ecological and hydrologic field studies, reviewed development and zoning‑related plans, and provided technical guidance on zoning, land use, and conservation practices. Lieffring also has a strong background in GIS applications, has attended public hearings, and has worked with multiple governmental agencies on environmental and regulatory matters. 

Lieffring holds a Bachelor of Science in Water Resources with an emphasis in watershed management from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, along with a minor in land use planning with an emphasis in conservation biology. She has completed numerous advanced training courses in wetland delineation, environmental corridor delineation, stormwater management, plant identification, and leadership development.
