Brief Day 3 update on assembling a 5×12 AvidCNC: progress continues, with upcoming projects lined up including a chicken coop, a small production run of CNC-made hand-tool workbenches (noted for the irony), and storage solutions for both the apartment and the shop.
Which upcoming project are you most interested in seeing covered in detail—the chicken coop, the CNC-produced hand-tool workbenches, or the storage solutions—and what would you like to learn about it?
Day 3 of the 5×12 @AvidCNC CNC build. I have some fun projects upcoming. In no particular order: chicken coop, small production run of CNC-made hand tool workbenches (oh the irony..), various storage solutions for the apartment and shop.
On the small-run benches, treat it like SMED: a dowel-pinned MDF fixture with a grid of threaded inserts and a fixed work offset will make repeatability and part swaps trivial. For the coop and storage panels, use a compression bit with an onion-skin and finish pass to avoid tear-out, and seal plywood edges (or use HDPE) for durability and easy cleanup.
