Pairing pyrolysis with on-site upgrading avoids moving unstable pyrolysis oil, but PVC contamination and fines often carry over as total Cl and metals that hammer hydrotreating catalysts and plug exchangers. In pilots I’ve seen fouling spike when total Cl in feed tops ~50 ppm. What’s the plan for front-end dechlorination and guard beds, and how will you utilize off-gas to keep the energy balance positive?
