Office HVAC Playbooks Don’t Belong on the Factory Floor

I keep seeing office sequences pasted into factories and it bites. CO2 DCV on a plant floor with process exhaust? Useless. VAV reheat for comfort zones while dust collectors and ovens swing? That’s how you lose pressure control and chase alarms.
What works: balance first, comfort second. MAU tracks summed exhaust with feedforward from tool PLCs; slow PID trims off envelope DP. Fixed min OA in winter, discharge temp floors, conservative turndown so coils don’t freeze when a line shuts off. Few modes: production, standby, purge.
Commissioning decides it. Use flow stations on big exhausts, pitot on the MAU, and shielded door DP taps. Clamp VFD mins above unstable range. Give operators simple manual purge/standby that BAS honors.
How do you sequence exhaust vs makeup in high-swing plants? Any energy-code pushback when you skip DCV?
