Evonik’s Catalysts business will support the next phase of Neptune Energy’s Altmark Lithium Extraction Project (ALE) in northern Germany. After successful preliminary testing, Evonik’s Liocel adsorbent was selected as the first material to be evaluated in a direct lithium extraction (DLE) pilot plant developed by Fraunhofer IEG, marking a key step toward validating DLE for domestic lithium supply in Germany.
