Scaling 5-HMF is a fight with humins, fouling, and acid corrosion; if they have solids management (backflushable filters with dP interlocks, heated lines, real cleanouts) and a forgiving solvent recovery, uptime might be achievable. Are they designing for variable cellulosic hydrolysate or assuming high-purity fructose, and what materials are they choosing where low pH and chlorides live?
