New powder-coating system allows primer and topcoat to cure together in a single bake cycle

This article was originally posted on Chemical Engineering Online.
Summary
OneCure is a patented dust-on-dust (DoD) powder-coating system that lets primer and topcoat be applied and cured together in a single bake, streamlining finishing for OEMs that need speed, durability, and consistent quality at scale. Built on multiple DoD systems proven over 15+ years, the OneCure portfolio is designed to consolidate steps and boost throughput.

Where would a single-bake DoD approach deliver the biggest payoff for you—shorter cycle time, higher throughput, or more consistent finishes—and what hurdles do you anticipate when adapting existing lines?

On heavy valve bodies we fight gel timing vs overbake; DoD could help, but how do you keep edge coverage and Faraday-cage recesses in spec when stacking coats before any cure? Do you have ASTM B117 or ISO 12944 C5 cyclic data on blasted carbon steel, and a defined field touch-up method if we have to weld or grind after bake?
