Seeing a lot of folks chasing alphabet soup. In our plants, the letters that paid rent were PE for the gate and API 570/510 for real calls. NACE CIP helped me stop a bad coating spec before a shutdown went sideways. Fancy cloud badges never got a flange to seal.
Prep that worked for me: for the PE CBT, live in the NCEES handbook. Build your own index and learn the search quirks. Drill unit checks until your hands do it without thinking. For API, it is code navigation. B31.3, Section VIII, API 571, 574, 579. Make a clause map. Time yourself from symptom to clause to calc.
I turned old MOCs and failure notes into flashcards. One hour after shift, code sprints with a kitchen timer. Printed key tables, rewrote them by hand, then binned the paper and did it again. Simulated the test with only the on screen reference and a cheap mouse. No tabs, no music.
If you had to keep only one cert for making better calls in the unit, which one is it and why? Also, got any offline tricks to mimic the NCEES on screen search without leaning on the cloud?
