On the packaging side, we’ve started treating raw‑material volatility as a controls problem: qualify two films and bake dual recipes, seal profiles, and web‑tension PIDs into the PLC so changeovers are button‑push, not a maintenance fire drill. Are you seeing projects require alternate‑material FATs and capability runs up front instead of waiting for supply crunches?

We’ve started writing “volatile-friendly” specs: dual-qualify pipe to A106-B/API 5L Gr B or X52, prequal WPS/PQRs for 304L/316L/2205, and define triggers (e.g., when Ni surcharges spike, shift to 2205 or 304L + corrosion allowance) so bids can pivot without redesign. Are you baking welding/NDE and sour-service (NACE MR0175/HIC) prequals into this, since alternates are worthless if you can’t weld or certify them on short notice?
