Robert Williams Joins Dewberry as President of National Design-build Practice

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Robert (Bob) Williams, PE, LEED AP, has joined the firm as president of its national design-build practice. In this new role, he will oversee nearly 50 individuals operating across the commercial, federal, and state/local markets, and will be based in the firm’s Raleigh, North Carolina, office.

Williams has over 35 years of experience in the engineering industry, including over 20 years leading design-build, construction, and alternative delivery functions. He has managed multi-million-dollar design-build projects, including design, strategic planning, and community engagement elements. Previously, Williams served as executive vice president and region leader for a construction firm, where he pioneered the Raleigh, North Carolina, practice in 2018 and grew operations to $60 million in annual revenue by 2025. In his new role at Dewberry, Williams will provide strategic leadership to the firm’s growing national design-build practice, overseeing design-build and construction projects for a diverse base of both public and private sector clients.

Williams earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Kentucky (1997) and a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering and management from Purdue University (1991). He is a member of the Associated General Contractors and a former board member of both the Morrisville and Greater Raleigh chambers of commerce.
